With its desire to offer a more inclusive educational experience
to its students, ILLC has revitalized its partial mainstreaming
programs wherein students from the Modified Education Program
are exposed to carefully guided experiences to socialize, play and
learn with their typically developing peers in ILLC’s sister school, the
Academia Progresiva de Manila (APDM). The strategic physical
proximity of ILLC and APDM allows our capable mainstreaming and
inclusion teachers to conveniently assist ILLC students interact with
APDM students who have all undergone age-appropriate sensitivity
training. Through this innovative program, students from both ILLC
and APDM learn to respect, appreciate and celebrate each other’s
differences and diversity.
